Almost Back-to-School Time
For many of us, it’s almost back-to-school time. Even if you don’t have to go back to school, I’m sure you have at least one person around you who has to go back. For a very long time, we have been going back to school from summer break. However, this year is different since many things have changed, and we have to be prepared.
One of the things that have changed because of the coronavirus is that many of the school districts in the United States have decided to start the school year online. It can be for the first few weeks, for a semester, or a whole year, depending on where you live. The thing is that we don’t know what it’s going to be like. Since I also don’t know, I am both scared and nervous to go back to school. It’s the first time for everyone to start the school year online, where teachers and students will meet each other online, learn things online, and talk online. Obviously, it’s going to be very different.
Another thing that has changed because of the coronavirus is that many of us would be wearing masks at school. I already know that it’s going to be hard to tell who is who, hard to wear masks for hours, and hard to talk to each other. I am pretty sure that teachers have to wear masks in school, and I already feel bad. It’s going to be so hard for them to talk while wearing a mask. Also, students might not understand and hear them very well because their voice will be muffled up. Teachers and students – everyone – wearing masks… Thinking about it makes me feel so uncomfortable.
Although things are going to change and are going to be hard, we have to do whatever it is to prevent people from getting the coronavirus. Everyone has to be safe. So if starting school online, wearing masks, etc. is required to be safe, then we should gladly take it. Please stay safe and do whatever you can to stay safe.
